I would add

To this that, if anything, his sons looked to be worse.

Update: I was thinking of Uday Hussein this morning because I recently had a conversation with my roommate about him. She is your standard anti-war liberal, but she was reading something about Uday's atrocities, and she was utterly riveted and revolted by one particular story involving honey and dogs. (More than that I won't say.) And she was so affected by this that she said, in a very small voice, "Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea after all." Meaning the war. This was with no prompting from me, mind you. We rarely talk about politics. All we ever seem to talk about is Tom Welling.
